Gifts to Heal Helps Kansas City Kids

Nonprofit organization provides hundreds of presents to local children of homicide victims.

Kansas City, Missouri’s nonprofit organization, Children of Homicide Victims (COHV) hosted their fifth annual “Gifts to Heal” event this Saturday. The purpose of the event is to provide gifts to children who have lost a parent or parents to homicide. To ensure these children are able to experience the joy of Christmas, COHV asked for wish lists from the families involved.

COHV has been providing support and resources for families affected by homicide since its founding in 2013. Through counseling, educational resources, and events like “Gifts to Heal”, COHV has helped hundreds of families in the Kansas City area heal from the tragedy of losing a loved one. This Saturday’s event was an uplifting occasion for those affected by homicide and those who support them.
